Discover how MicroPIM connects Senior ERP to your e-commerce platforms with built-in Romanian compliance fields, ANAF-ready tax classifications, and flexible JSON field mapping.

If you run a Romanian business using Senior ERP, you already know how central that system is to your daily operations. Purchase orders, inventory valuation, fiscal records, supplier management — it all lives there. The problem starts the moment you try to sell online. Getting product data out of Senior ERP and into a Shopify store, a Magento instance, or a Gomag shop is not straightforward. Field names differ, compliance data has no clean destination, and every manual export leads to the same result: stale data, mapping errors, and hours of cleanup.

MicroPIM was built to close that gap. It sits between your ERP and your sales channels as a dedicated product information hub, handling the translation, enrichment, and sync so you do not have to.

The Challenge of Connecting Senior ERP to E-commerce

Senior ERP is one of the most widely used ERP platforms in Romania, particularly among mid-sized manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. It handles complex accounting, multi-warehouse inventory, and — critically for Romanian businesses — the compliance requirements set by ANAF, the National Agency for Fiscal Administration.

That depth of data is exactly what makes direct integration difficult. Senior ERP products carry fields that simply do not exist in standard e-commerce platforms. Risk categories, Intrastat CN8 codes, excise duty codes, tax classification groups — none of these map cleanly to a Shopify product or a Magento catalog entry.

The typical workaround is a manual export: pull a CSV from Senior ERP, clean it in Excel, strip out the compliance fields that the store platform cannot accept, and push the result to your online store. Repeat every time a product changes. For businesses with hundreds or thousands of SKUs, this process consumes time that should go into growing sales, not maintaining spreadsheets.

There is also a data quality problem. When you manually translate ERP data into store listings, things get lost. Purchase prices disappear, weight values get dropped, supplier lead times never make it into the catalog. The result is a product catalog that tells only half the story — and that creates problems downstream for inventory planning, pricing, and customer expectations.

MicroPIM as the Bridge Between Senior ERP and Your Online Store

MicroPIM acts as a central product repository that understands both worlds: the structured, compliance-heavy data model of an ERP system and the content-rich format that e-commerce platforms need.

The integration works in two directions. On the input side, product data flows from Senior ERP into MicroPIM — either via a CSV/XML export from Senior, a direct API connection, or a scheduled feed. On the output side, MicroPIM pushes enriched, properly formatted product data to your sales channels: Shopify, Magento, or Gomag for Romanian-market stores.

Between those two points, MicroPIM gives you the tools to enrich your ERP data into compelling product listings. You can add marketing descriptions, generate AI-optimized product titles and SEO metadata, attach and enhance product images with AI image generation, manage product variants, and set up multi-warehouse inventory rules — none of which Senior ERP is designed to handle on its own.

For teams selling across multiple channels, the multi-platform export is particularly valuable. The same product record in MicroPIM can feed a Shopify store in one format, a Magento catalog in another, and a Gomag listing for the Romanian domestic market — all from a single source of truth. The AI translation feature is useful for businesses exporting to EU markets. MicroPIM can automatically translate product names and descriptions into English, German, French, and over 20 other languages, with a review and approval workflow before anything goes live.

Romanian Compliance Fields Built Into MicroPIM

This is where MicroPIM specifically addresses the Senior ERP use case. Most PIM systems are designed for Western European or North American markets and treat Romanian fiscal compliance as an afterthought, if they consider it at all. MicroPIM has these fields built into its product data model from the ground up.

riskCategory maps directly to Senior ERP’s CategorieRisc field. MicroPIM uses a typed enum — HIGH, MEDIUM, LOW, and EXEMPT — which corresponds to ANAF risk classifications for product categories. This matters for fiscal reporting and for VAT verification workflows that Romanian businesses are required to maintain.

intrastatCode stores the CN8 eight-digit Combined Nomenclature code required for EU Intrastat reporting. Any Romanian business importing or exporting goods within the EU needs to declare these codes. Senior ERP tracks them on the product record (CodIntrastat), and MicroPIM preserves that value so it is available for export templates and compliance reporting.

exciseCode covers goods subject to excise duty — alcohol, tobacco, energy products, and other regulated categories. The field maps from CodAcciza in Senior ERP and ensures the code travels with the product across systems rather than being stripped during export.

taxClassificationCode holds the fiscal group code (GrupaFiscala in Senior ERP), which determines the applicable VAT treatment. This complements MicroPIM’s built-in EU VAT rate management, which includes pre-configured rates for all 27 EU member states. Romanian standard, reduced, and zero rates are included, along with the country-specific rate tables needed for cross-border EU transactions.

Together, these fields mean you can import a Senior ERP product record into MicroPIM and retain full ANAF-relevant metadata — not just the commercial attributes needed for a product listing, but the fiscal attributes needed for compliance.

Flexible Integration via JSON Field Mapping (integrationData)

Senior ERP contains fields that are specific to your business setup, your industry sector, or your internal processes. Not every field has a direct counterpart in MicroPIM’s standard data model, and that is intentional. Rather than forcing a rigid schema that breaks when ERP data does not conform, MicroPIM includes an integrationData JSON field on every product record.

This field acts as an open container for ERP-specific data that you want to retain but that does not fit a standard product attribute. Custom valuation codes, internal cost center references, Senior-specific workflow flags, procurement notes — all of it can be stored in integrationData and made available for export templates, API responses, or downstream integrations.

The full field mapping between Senior ERP and MicroPIM looks like this:

The costValuationMethod field is worth calling out specifically. Senior ERP supports multiple inventory valuation methods — Standard Cost, Weighted Average, FIFO, and LIFO. MicroPIM preserves this value via a typed enum so that cost reporting downstream reflects the correct accounting method, not a generic fallback.

Similarly, countryOfOrigin using ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 codes ensures compatibility with customs declarations and Intrastat reporting requirements, both of which Senior ERP users in Romania deal with regularly.

The purchaseDescription field solves a common data quality problem. Senior ERP often contains detailed vendor-facing product notes that differ from the consumer-facing description used in online listings. MicroPIM stores both separately, so your procurement team’s notes stay intact without polluting the product description your customers see.

Getting Started with Senior ERP and MicroPIM

The integration setup follows a straightforward process that does not require developer resources on the Senior ERP side.

The first step is exporting your product catalog from Senior ERP. The most common approach is a scheduled CSV or XML export from the Senior ERP reporting module. The export should include at minimum: CodProdus, DenumireProdus, PretVanzare, GrupaFiscala, and any compliance fields your business tracks. MicroPIM’s import system accepts CSV, XLSX, JSON, and XML formats and uses AI-powered field mapping to suggest how each source column maps to the MicroPIM data model.

Once the initial import is reviewed and mapping is confirmed, you save the mapping profile. Subsequent imports from Senior ERP apply the same mapping automatically, so the ongoing process takes minutes rather than hours.

From there, product enrichment happens inside MicroPIM. Marketing descriptions, SEO titles, and meta descriptions can be generated with AI assistance or written manually. Images are managed through MicroPIM’s media library, with AI image enhancement available for products that lack professional photography. For businesses selling pan-European, the translation workflow handles localization into the required target languages with an approval step before publication.

When products are ready to publish, MicroPIM syncs to your connected sales channels. For Gomag — the Romanian e-commerce platform — the integration handles bidirectional sync, including categories, brands, attributes, and stock levels. For Shopify and Magento, product push and inventory sync run through dedicated queues with retry logic and error tracking built in.

MicroPIM also supports multi-warehouse inventory, which aligns with how Senior ERP typically structures stock across multiple locations. Warehouse records in MicroPIM map to your Senior ERP warehouses, and inventory levels flow through to your sales channels as stock is updated.

Senior ERP holds critical product and compliance data that Romanian e-commerce businesses cannot afford to lose in translation. MicroPIM is the system that preserves it — handling ANAF compliance fields, EU VAT rates, Intrastat codes, and flexible ERP data — while turning raw ERP records into polished, multi-channel product listings.

If you are running Senior ERP and selling online, or planning to expand into new channels, MicroPIM removes the integration burden and keeps your product data accurate, compliant, and up to date.
